The Lampifier Model 111 Professional Microphone is a rugged, high performance, phantom powered, large diaphram cardioid mic with a patented, fully analog, transparent dynamic reduction system built in.

Why dynamic reduction? Live sound always has too much dynamic range for ideal sound reinforcement needs. And the on-board, fully analog circuitry inside every Lampifier microphone reduces this range naturally and transparently, rendering dynamics in a more ideal range.

Of course sound engineers love top down compression and limiting, but singers generally hate it! This is because singing through such settings tends to cause singers to push overly hard and blow out their voice. The Lampifier sound is different:  Unlike standard compressors, Lampifier's unique compression technology reduces harsh plosives and pushes up light breathy nuances from both directions (up and down) without "crushing" dynamics entirely. So singers still feel and work with their normal dynamic range, and the mic remains dynamically responsive, yet at the same time it delivers to the sound engineer within more "workable" setting. And it also tends to keep the voice at an appropriate level amid dense, high volume sound environments.

Can't you get the same thing out of other mics? Sure, with a good soundman and a rack of expensive processing. But this means you must rely on your soundman to get it right. (And let's face it... how often does that really happen?) With the Lampifier mic, it's "set it and forget it." Plug it in and go! With built in self adjusting dynamic circuitry, comparing this mic to a standard dynamic vocal mic is just an unfair comparison.

The fully analog Lampifier circuitry also adds no digital conversion which means no added noise or coloration. The sound remains warm and real. It's a game changer! However, please note: Although the dynamic reduction is significant, it's designed to be subtle and transparent, without the common artifacts of standard compression technology. So you may not even notice it... it just "sounds better" when you A/B between a Lampifier and another mic. And that's exactly what it's supposed to do!

Built in noise gating, combined with its cardioid pickup pattern, offers added feedback rejection. Also, both the noise gate and the dynamic compression levels are user adjustable (by altering jumpers inside the mic handle) but this is generally unnecessary as the circuit is to a degree, self adjusting--the result of the compression ratio changing automatically based on input signal level.

The EQ of this mic is different that the Model 111. Where the 111 features the upper midrange boost, to help cut through a dense mix (a la the Shure SM58), this Model 711 is a wider frequency response. The lows are a bit stronger and also the high, highs. So the 711 is better on instruments as well as on vocals in a less dense mix... singer/songwriter or other less competitive sonic environment.

NOTE: The Lampifier company is no longer in business. This is leftover stock, which is why it's being clearanced so inexpensively here. This is a great, versatile product at a great price, however, it is sold with NO manufacturer warranty. In the unlikely event that a unit fails to operate, please return it within 14 days and we will ship you a replacement.
